Role overview

The Vice President of Marketing Communications will shape and direct the organization’s worldwide communications approach. This leader will own brand messaging, corporate communications, public relations, content marketing, and market-facing engagement programs, ensuring the company presents a unified and compelling voice to customers, partners, investors, media, and employees.

The position plays a senior strategic role, connecting brand strategy, market positioning, customer engagement, and reputation stewardship. By building integrated communication programs, the role helps strengthen brand value, customer confidence, lead generation, and overall visibility for the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and execute a global marketing communications plan that supports corporate goals and growth ambitions.
  • Design communication structures that reinforce brand positioning, customer engagement, and business development efforts.
  • Make sure marketing communications stay closely connected to corporate strategy and commercial priorities.
  • Track market shifts and new communication opportunities that can improve brand reach and influence.
  • Lead brand communication work across all channels and regions.
  • Maintain a consistent brand identity, voice, and story across the organization.
  • Develop value propositions, core messaging, and communication standards for internal and external use.
  • Build stronger brand recognition, trust, and differentiation in target markets.
  • Direct public relations strategy, media outreach, and reputation management activities.
  • Develop relationships with media outlets, analysts, influencers, and other important stakeholders.
  • Handle crisis communication planning and response when required.
  • Oversee press materials, media briefings, executive interviews, and company announcements.
  • Guide content creation and distribution across digital, social, and traditional media.
  • Manage content programs such as thought leadership pieces, white papers, case studies, videos, webinars, blogs, and social media campaigns.
  • Ensure content efforts support lead creation, audience engagement, and brand growth.
  • Improve digital communication performance through SEO, marketing automation, and ongoing optimization.
  • Lead integrated campaigns that support product launches, market expansion, and corporate initiatives.
  • Work with product, sales, and customer success teams to keep go-to-market messaging aligned.
  • Support demand generation and customer acquisition through targeted communication programs.
  • Increase customer engagement and loyalty through coordinated multi-channel communication.
  • Define and monitor metrics such as brand awareness, media coverage, share of voice, engagement, lead impact, website traffic, and campaign ROI.
  • Use data and insights to refine and improve communication effectiveness.
  • Prepare executive dashboards and regular performance reviews for leadership.
  • Continuously adjust communication strategy based on market feedback and analytics.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, product, customer success, investor relations, and executive leadership.
  • Keep communication initiatives aligned with business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on communication-related matters.
  • Enable effective communication across internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing marketing communications team.
  • Strengthen talent growth, leadership capability, and succession planning within the function.
  • Set best practices, governance standards, and operating processes for the team.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • MBA, master’s degree in Communications, or an equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of experience in marketing communications, corporate communications, public relations, brand management, or a related area.
  • Minimum 8 years in senior leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading global communications and brand-building programs.
  • Strong background in media relations, integrated campaigns, content strategy, and reputation management.
  • Experience in multinational companies, healthcare, technology, consumer brands, or fast-growing businesses is preferred.

This is a senior leadership position based in the United States and is offered as a full-time onsite role.
