About the Role

The Vice President of Human Resources is a vital member of the company's executive leadership, responsible for crafting and implementing the organization's people strategy that propels growth, operational excellence, and long-term success. This executive role steers all facets of human resources, aiming to attract, develop, engage, and retain exceptional talent, while nurturing a high-performance environment. Candidates must reside within commuting distance to the Greater St. Louis area as the position requires onsite presence. The company is currently based in Illinois and plans to relocate to Greater St. Louis within 3 to 6 months. Prior experience in building an HR team and familiarity with the manufacturing sector is essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and roll out HR strategies that align with business growth and objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, succession strategies, and talent development.
  • Create scalable HR systems, policies, and best practices to support expansion.
  • Lead recruitment efforts across manufacturing, operations, engineering, maintenance, and corporate functions.
  • Initiate workforce planning strategies and enhance employer branding and community relationships.
  • Improve onboarding processes to bolster employee integration and retention.
  • Promote a culture emphasizing safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with leadership to address employee relations issues ensuring consistent policy adherence.
  • Manage employee engagement, performance oversight, leadership development, and succession planning programs.
  • Oversee competitive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Manage HR policies related to investigations, workers' compensation, and return-to-work initiatives.
  • Lead HRIS system improvements, reporting, and streamlining procedures.
  • Establish HR metrics and dashboards to inform executive decisions.
  • Drive organizational change management related to business expansion, acquisitions, and transformation.
  • Supervise the HR budget and cultivate a strong HR team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of progressive leadership experience in HR, including senior roles.
  • Experience in supporting manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment legislation, compensation frameworks, talent management, organizational development, and HR best practices.
  • Proven capability in establishing scalable HR processes and leading growth-focused initiatives.
  • Exemplary leadership, communication, coaching, and change management expertise.
  • Willingness to travel to company sites as necessary.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, or high-growth organizational initiatives.

Additional Information

Applicants must be local candidates who can commute to the Greater St. Louis area. The company is preparing for relocation from Illinois to Greater St. Louis within three to six months.
