Role Summary

The Vice President of Enterprise Project Management will lead the design, setup, and day-to-day running of the organization’s enterprise-wide PMO framework. This position is accountable for managing major initiatives and coordinating resources across teams, business lines, and regions so that strategic projects are delivered on time, efficiently, and to a high quality standard. The role is centered on strategic delivery, organizational execution strength, resource alignment, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

This leader will build and evolve the enterprise project management system, oversee strategic programs, coordinate cross-functional execution, manage the project portfolio, and ensure delivery discipline across the organization. The role also covers risk control, KPI reporting, digital project management tools, process standardization, team capability building, and management of external suppliers when needed.

PMO Framework and Governance

  • Create and implement an enterprise PMO structure.
  • Define consistent project management methods, standards, and ways of working, including PMP, Agile, and hybrid approaches.
  • Set up a project classification model with tiered handling for strategic, critical, and routine work.
  • Improve repeatability, consistency, and maturity in the organization’s project delivery process.

Strategic Project Execution

  • Own the planning and progress tracking of the company’s key strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate major programs that cut across departments and business lines.
  • Ensure alignment between project execution and company goals.
  • Track milestones and delivery progress closely to improve implementation success.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Align resources across Product, Technology, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
  • Resolve conflicts and competing demands during project execution.
  • Improve allocation of people, time, and priorities across initiatives.
  • Strengthen collaboration efficiency and consistency of execution across teams.
  • Put in place practical mechanisms that support smooth project coordination.

Portfolio, Delivery, and Performance Management

  • Oversee the overall project portfolio and prioritize work based on business value.
  • Improve resource allocation and return on investment across initiatives.
  • Ensure critical projects are completed on schedule.
  • Track cost, quality, progress, and acceptance criteria for delivery.
  • Build KPI frameworks and performance standards for project management.
  • Analyze delivery results, bottlenecks, and efficiency gaps, and prepare management reports.

Risk, Process, and Digital Transformation

  • Set up enterprise-level project risk management practices.
  • Identify dependencies, execution risks, and potential issues early.
  • Design mitigation and response plans for major risks and crises.
  • Lead process optimization and standardization using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models.
  • Support the rollout of project management platforms and digital dashboards such as Jira, MS Project, and Asana.
  • Improve visibility, automation, and real-time monitoring of project data.

Team Capability and External Coordination

  • Build an enterprise project management talent framework and PMO organization.
  • Develop the ability of project managers and project teams through training and certification programs.
  • Create a high-performance project management culture.
  • Oversee outsourced or supplier-led project work where applicable.
  • Review supplier capability, delivery quality, timing, and risk management.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate brings deep project management leadership experience, strong strategic execution skills, and the ability to coordinate complex work across multiple stakeholders. The role requires a data-driven mindset, strong organizational influence, and the ability to build standardized systems that improve delivery at scale.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, preferably in Engineering Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum Master are preferred.
  • An MBA is considered an advantage.
  • At least 20 years of experience in project management or PMO-related roles is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience at Director or Vice President level is preferred.
  • Experience building PMO systems in large enterprises or multinational companies is preferred.
  • Background in managing complex programs or several simultaneous projects is preferred.
  • Experience in internet, technology, manufacturing, or consulting environments is preferred.
  • Strong ability to design enterprise-level project governance and management systems.
  • Excellent strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Proven capability in cross-functional coordination and resource mobilization.
  • Solid portfolio management and prioritization judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and risk identification skills.
  • Comfort working with data to manage projects and improve outcomes.
  • Ability to improve and standardize processes effectively.
  • High execution drive and strong organizational influence.
