Position Overview
The Vice President of Delivery and Operations (VP, Delivery and Operations) serves as a senior leader responsible for managing the organization's delivery capabilities and operational performance on a broad scale. This role ensures consistent and scalable execution of products, services, and strategic initiatives with a focus on excellence and efficiency. The VP integrates multiple disciplines including service delivery, project management, operational oversight, process enhancement, and enterprise transformation to meet organizational objectives and boost customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement delivery and operations strategies that align with overarching business goals.
- Build scalable operational models designed to enhance productivity, quality, and customer experience.
- Align delivery resources with the organization's growth plans and transformation efforts.
- Lead strategic operational planning to maximize efficiency and execution effectiveness.
- Oversee delivery processes across products, services, and programs spanning multiple business units, ensuring projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality criteria.
- Standardize delivery methodologies, establish governance frameworks, and set relevant performance measures.
- Use best practices, automation, and process improvements to achieve consistent delivery outcomes.
- Champion continuous improvement utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and other operational methodologies.
- Optimize workflows, resource allocation, capacity planning, and overall operational efficiency.
- Drive modernization through digital transformation and innovative initiatives that boost scalability and performance.
- Set up executive dashboards and select KPIs to monitor performance factors such as productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, financial results, and resource use.
- Identify risks, enforce mitigation strategies, and maintain compliance with governance, regulatory standards, and service level agreements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in Technology, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Marketing to support enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and international expansion efforts.
- Lead and develop leadership teams including Directors of Operations, Delivery Directors, PMO, Service Delivery Managers, and Continuous Improvement personnel.
- Manage budgets, strategic investments, and external vendor partnerships.
- Report operational performance and strategic insights to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Advanced degree such as MBA or Master’s preferred.
- Professional certifications like PMP, Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, Agile, or PRINCE2 are desirable.
- 12 to 18+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in operations, delivery management, consulting, or enterprise transformation roles.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale operational and delivery organizations.
- In-depth knowledge and application of operational excellence, financial oversight, strategic execution, and organizational leadership.
- Outstanding leadership capabilities combined with strong communication, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
