Job description

Role Overview

The Vice President of Data & Analytics is responsible for shaping and directing the enterprise-wide data and analytics agenda for the credit union. The position is focused on enabling reliable reporting, meaningful insights, and data-informed decisions while making sure data is well governed, protected, and aligned with business goals, compliance obligations, and member experience priorities.

Working closely with senior leadership, this leader turns strategic priorities into measurable outcomes, moves the organization beyond basic reporting into more advanced analytics, and helps guide the responsible use of AI and advanced analytical methods to strengthen performance, reduce risk, and support long-term growth.

Work Schedule and Location

This role is based in Anaheim Hills, CA and includes a hybrid-remote arrangement of 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. Member service hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Depending on business needs, the position may also require flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

What You Will Do

  • Set the direction for the credit union’s enterprise data and analytics strategy, roadmap, and operating model in line with business and technology priorities.
  • Own the delivery of reporting and analytics capabilities that support strategic objectives.
  • Help create a scalable, secure, and well-governed data foundation with IT, Information Security, and Risk teams to support reporting, analytics, and future advanced capabilities.
  • Oversee data platforms, tools, and vendor partnerships to support scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with executive leadership and business stakeholders while staying current on regulatory expectations such as GLBA, CCPA, and FFEIC to deliver prescriptive and predictive analytics.
  • Work with executive leaders to convert business strategy into measurable results, analytical use cases, and prioritized initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to define data needs, build reporting solutions, and bring in new data sources.
  • Provide forward-looking guidance on emerging data, analytics, and AI capabilities and assess how they can add value to the organization.
  • Make sure analytics investments produce measurable business value through success measures, benefit tracking, and ongoing improvement.
  • Put in place operating models and delivery practices that support consistent, high-quality analytics output.
  • Lead, coach, grow, and retain a strong data and analytics team through development planning, role clarity, and succession planning.
  • Apply the C.A.R.E. 4 guide and Brand Communications Standards Accountability Philosophy in day-to-day work.
  • Be available to work in a hybrid schedule when required by business operations.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in data, analytics, or business intelligence roles.
  • At least 4 years of people leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proven success leading enterprise data and analytics programs that support reporting, insight generation, and strategic decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of modern data and analytics architecture, including data warehousing, data modeling, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience working with data governance frameworks covering data quality, stewardship, security, and access control.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as economics, statistics, computer science, or IT development/infrastructure.
  • Preferred: experience with vendor management and onboarding new technologies or services.
  • Preferred: experience in financial services, credit unions, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Preferred: collaborative, team-oriented working style.
  • Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines and code repositories.
  • Preferred: ability to show how generative AI tools such as CoPilot and ChatGPT can be applied to everyday work.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Must be able to explain complex technical and analytical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong mathematics and statistics background.
  • Comfortable working for long periods on detailed and precise tasks.
  • Able to perform effectively under time pressure and tight deadlines.

Compensation and Hiring Notes

The organization uses a pay-for-performance approach and benchmarks base pay to the 50th percentile of market data. The posted pay scale is Min. $192,157, Mid. $245,000, and Max. $315,848 per year. Actual compensation depends on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. This job description may be changed by the employer at any time without notice.
