Role Overview
The Vice President of Corporate Procurement is a full-time remote leadership position charged with directing the company’s enterprise procurement strategy and day-to-day purchasing operations. The role is accountable for sourcing across major categories such as fuel, equipment, services, and indirect spend, with a focus on cost control, quality standards, and policy and regulatory compliance. This leader works closely with finance, operations, legal, and business unit stakeholders to ensure procurement decisions support business objectives and risk management priorities.
Key Responsibilities
This role includes building and maintaining procurement policies, leading supplier and contract negotiations, managing vendor relationships, and continuously improving the overall supply base. The position also involves coaching procurement team members, tracking market movements, and applying data and analytics to improve total cost of ownership and safeguard supply continuity.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in procurement and supply chain management, along with the ability to create and execute enterprise sourcing strategies. Strong contract negotiation and contract management experience is needed to protect the company’s interests, reduce risk, and maintain compliance. The role also calls for experience in supplier development and performance management, including vendor assessment, onboarding, and ongoing improvement efforts.
Successful applicants should have demonstrated leadership in cross-functional settings and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in a corporate environment. Experience in the oil, energy, or another industrial sector is strongly preferred, especially where commodities and logistics are involved. A strong analytical mindset, solid financial acumen, and data-based decision-making skills are important, including budgeting and cost analysis. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities are essential, particularly in a fully remote work environment.
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. An advanced degree or professional certification such as CPSM or CSCP would be considered an advantage.
