Position Overview
The Vice President of Business Development will spearhead BBI's business development initiatives, oversee and expand the Business Development Representatives team, and drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and market expansion. This executive role demands a seasoned sales leader passionate about mentoring teams, forming strategic alliances, opening new markets, and nurturing long-lasting client relations. Experience in commercial construction, restoration, facility services, roofing, or similar industries is essential, as well as a strong network within commercial real estate, property management, healthcare, senior living, multifamily housing, or institutional sectors. The role involves collaboration with company ownership to direct future growth strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Business Development Representatives, setting expectations, coaching performance, and cultivating a high-achieving sales culture.
- Develop and implement the overall business development strategy for the company.
- Set and monitor sales goals and key performance indicators on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
- Recruit, hire, train, and nurture the growth of the business development team as the company scales.
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, referrals, strategic partnerships, and relationship building.
- Forge executive-level relationships with property managers, REITs, housing authorities, healthcare organizations, senior living providers, hospitality groups, real estate firms, facility managers, insurance brokers, consultants, and ownership entities.
- Identify emerging markets, strategic alliances, and opportunities for geographic growth.
- Lead major proposals, client presentations, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Estimating, and Executive Leadership to ensure seamless project transitions and superior client experiences.
- Represent BBI at industry conferences, networking events, trade associations, and meetings.
- Maintain precise CRM reports, sales forecasts, pipeline statuses, and executive business development metrics.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to seize new opportunities.
- Support company ownership with strategic growth plans, acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial business development, sales leadership, or executive sales roles.
- Proven expertise in leading and developing successful sales/business development teams.
- Track record of generating multi-million-dollar commercial revenue.
- Experience in sales related to commercial construction, restoration, roofing, facility services, capital improvement, or emergency services.
- Strong executive presence, accompanied by excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Expertise in negotiating large-scale commercial contracts.
- Capability to cultivate and maintain long-term executive relationships.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
- Willingness to travel as the position demands.
