Role Overview
This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping enterprise strategy and innovation direction. The role focuses on developing medium- and long-range plans, setting up an innovation operating model, uncovering new sources of growth, and leading digital and business-model transformation so the organization can sustain competitive advantage and long-term value creation.
The position generally reports to the CEO, CSO, President, or the Board and forms part of the top decision-making group. The scope of the role can apply across industries such as technology, AI, finance, healthcare, biotechnology, semiconductors, manufacturing, new energy, consumer products, and professional services.
Position Objectives

Corporate Strategy Planning
The role owns enterprise-wide strategy design, including long-range planning, strategic frameworks, annual target setting, strategic project governance, resource allocation, competitive positioning, globalization planning, and alignment of strategy with market conditions.
Innovation Strategy Management
This role is expected to establish a repeatable innovation system by defining innovation priorities, nurturing an innovation-first culture, overseeing innovation programs, assessing emerging technologies, planning innovation investment, creating incubation mechanisms, and enabling open innovation as a growth engine.
Business Growth and New Business Development
Key duties include spotting new market opportunities, launching products and services, designing fresh business models, pursuing strategic alliances, expanding internationally, incubating new ventures, and building growth plans that support sustainable expansion.
Digital Transformation
The executive will lead the delivery of digital strategy through digital business models, AI and automation adoption, data-led operations, enterprise platforms, intelligent operating systems, and other advanced technologies that improve efficiency and responsiveness.
Market and Competitive Analysis
The position requires building a structured strategic intelligence capability through industry trend review, market research, competitor analysis, customer insight gathering, technology trend evaluation, emerging sector research, and risk-opportunity assessment to inform leadership decisions.
Strategic Investment and Cooperation
The role also covers strategic partnerships and capital initiatives, including alliances, investments, M&A support, joint ventures, partnerships with universities and research bodies, and broader innovation ecosystem collaborations that contribute to long-term enterprise value.
Corporate Change Management
Another part of the role is to drive organizational evolution through transformation programs, operational simplification, process innovation, culture-building, performance-management innovation, and oversight of strategic execution to strengthen overall capability.
Cross-functional Collaboration
This leader will coordinate closely with Product Management, R&D, Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, IT, and Operations to ensure strategic initiatives are executed successfully.
Team Leadership
The role may oversee leaders such as a Strategy Director, Innovation Director, Corporate Development Director, Strategic Project Manager, Business Analysis Manager, Innovation Project Manager, and Strategy Analyst. Responsibilities include hiring, building the team, managing performance, developing innovation capability, and supporting high-potential talent growth.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree background in business administration, strategic management, finance, economics, engineering management, information technology, data science, or management; an MBA is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate development, innovation management, or consulting.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior management capacity.
- Prior work in strategic leadership at large enterprises or multinational organizations is expected.
- Experience leading digital transformation or innovation initiatives is preferred.
- Comfort working with corporate strategy, innovation management, growth strategy, corporate development, digital transformation, business-model innovation, strategic investment, M&A, project management, and data analysis.
- Strong hands-on capability with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Confluence, OKR tools, and corporate strategy platforms.
- Preferred professional credentials include MBA, PMP, CFA, CMA, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Must demonstrate strategic thinking, innovation leadership, business understanding, analytical strength, business-model design ability, change management, collaboration, decision-making, communication, influence, and team leadership.
Performance Measures
Success in this role is measured through strategic goal attainment, innovation project outcomes, revenue contribution from new businesses, successful product launches, digital transformation completion, revenue growth, market-share growth, return on strategic investments, output from innovation spending, strategic partnership delivery, improvement in organizational innovation capability, and team performance/talent development metrics.
