Job description
Role overview
This is an opportunity to join a high-performing Energy team that works on advisory, structured finance, and project finance transactions across Australia and New Zealand. The position sits within a wider Energy, Mining & Industries platform at a major global investment bank and is aligned to continued expansion in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The role offers exposure to sophisticated financing mandates, client-facing work, and transaction execution across the energy transition space. It is a senior position with ownership of deal delivery, stakeholder coordination, and support for the development of junior colleagues.
What you will do
You will help lead and support execution of complex transactions in the energy sector, working alongside senior bankers, clients, and internal teams across Australia, APAC, and offshore locations. The role spans origination support, credit work, financial modelling, transaction structuring, and advisory execution, with early responsibility and direct client exposure across strategically important mandates.
Ideal candidate background
The role is suited to someone with 6 to 9 years of experience in project finance, structured finance, infrastructure advisory, or broader investment banking. A background in a global investment bank, specialist advisory firm, or energy-focused financing team would be highly relevant.
Strong capability in financial modelling, valuation, and credit analysis is important, along with proven experience handling transaction structuring, due diligence, and full deal execution. Candidates should also be comfortable managing several workstreams at once and mentoring junior team members.
Additional information
This opportunity is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and is a full-time, onsite role. The engagement is focused on live deal execution and growth across the energy transition landscape. Applicants with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and clients will be well suited to the position.
