Vice President, Global Supply Chain

Role overview

The Vice President of Global Supply Chain will own the strategy, execution, and ongoing refinement of the organization’s end-to-end global supply chain. This senior leadership role spans demand forecasting, production and capacity planning, procurement, logistics, customer service, and trade compliance, with a focus on improving service, reducing cost, and supporting overall business objectives.

Strategic supply chain leadership

• Set the direction for a global supply chain model that supports growth, financial goals, and customer expectations.
• Partner with senior leaders on enterprise planning, operational improvements, and supply chain innovation.

Demand and supply planning

• Own master planning and demand forecasting using market signals, historical patterns, and statistical methods.
• Direct master production scheduling to keep production aligned with demand, available capacity, and inventory goals.
• Lead production and capacity planning to improve throughput while working within resource limits.

Inventory management and control

• Define and maintain inventory policies that support target stock levels, limit obsolescence, and protect service performance.
• Use planning systems to manage safety stock, lead times, and reorder points accurately.

Procurement and supplier management

• Lead global sourcing strategy, supplier development, and risk reduction efforts.
• Oversee day-to-day procurement work to ensure purchases are timely and cost-effective.
• Manage commodity-based supplier programs that improve standardization and leverage across categories.

Logistics, distribution, and customer service

• Run global logistics and distribution networks with attention to delivery performance, cost control, and responsiveness.
• Guide customer service operations to strengthen issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Improve transportation, third-party logistics, and warehouse operations across regions.

Trade compliance and regulatory affairs

• Ensure adherence to international trade and customs rules, including import/export controls, documentation, and tariff management.
• Work closely with legal and compliance teams to sustain standards and respond to regulatory changes.

Technology and analytics

• Advance digital transformation in supply chain through planning platforms, ERP tools such as SAP or Oracle, and live analytics.
• Track KPIs and performance metrics across supply chain functions to support decisions and continuous improvement.

Leadership and talent development

• Build, lead, and grow a high-performing global supply chain team.
• Create a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and ongoing improvement.

Compensation

The posted salary range for this role is $290,000 to $340,000 annually. Final compensation may be above or below this range depending on relevant experience, internal equity, skill set, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of progressive experience in medical device supply chain management.
• At least 8 years of leadership or people-management responsibility.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Background across the full supply chain cycle, including production planning, forecasting, procurement, logistics, and customer service.
• Hands-on expertise with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Kina, or similar tools.
• Experience managing cross-border logistics, trade compliance, and multi-region operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferred qualifications

• MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.
• Experience working collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Regulatory, Purchasing, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing teams.
• Strong system-level understanding of ERP and MRP environments, especially SAP.
• Certifications such as APICS CPIM, APICS CSCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
• Technical familiarity with medical device implants and delivery systems is preferred.
