Role overview

The role centers on creating a strong partner ecosystem across international markets and driving high-value collaboration with global customers, technology providers, channel partners, cloud vendors, government bodies, research organizations, and industry alliances. The aim is to accelerate business growth, expand market reach, and strengthen the company’s global presence.

This position generally reports to the Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, Senior Vice President of Global Business, or Chief Executive Officer. It sits at the core of enterprise-level global business development and ecosystem partnership efforts, and is especially important for large multinational organizations in technology, finance, semiconductors, healthcare, and similar sectors.

Position objectives

  • Build and scale a global partner ecosystem.
  • Support international business growth and market penetration.
  • Widen the company’s coverage across global markets.
  • Develop durable strategic alliances.

  • Advance the organization’s international expansion agenda.

Key responsibilities

Global partnership strategy — Design and steer the company’s global partnership roadmap, including ecosystem development, regional partnership models, market footprint planning, alliance strategy, channel strategy, and cross-border collaboration plans. Ensure all initiatives stay aligned with broader global growth goals.

Partnership management — Develop and maintain relationships with strategic international clients, channel partners, cloud service providers, system integrators, software and technology partners, OEM/ODM partners, consulting firms, universities, research institutions, associations, and public-sector organizations. Build a network that covers priority countries and regions.

Business development — Identify and convert global collaboration opportunities through negotiations, joint solutions, co-marketing, go-to-market execution, channel growth, joint sales planning, technology licensing partnerships, and broader alliance-building efforts.

Ecosystem development — Create and improve partner programs, certification frameworks, incentive structures, technology ecosystems, developer communities, ISV ecosystems, alliance partner processes, and partner lifecycle management practices to deepen engagement and long-term value.

Global project leadership — Oversee cross-border partnership initiatives from opportunity assessment and negotiation through contract execution, implementation, coordination, risk handling, and performance review to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

Cross-functional coordination — Work closely with strategic planning, global sales, marketing, product management, R&D, legal, finance, compliance, customer success, and regional business teams to keep partnership execution efficient and aligned.

Market expansion — Support international growth through market-entry plans, regional partner development, localized partnership models, global brand collaborations, overseas trade events, and investment-related partnerships.

Risk and compliance — Create and maintain a global partnership risk framework covering commercial exposure, contract risks, trade compliance, privacy, intellectual property, sanctions, export controls, and reputation risk. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and governance standards.

Team leadership — Lead a global partnerships team that may include directors, regional leads, strategic partnership managers, partner success managers, business development managers, and alliance managers. Handle hiring, team building, performance management, leadership development, and international talent growth.
