Vice President Finance

Role overview

A technology company based in Berlin and using Workday Financials is looking for an experienced finance executive to shape its financial direction and lead the FP&A and Financial Systems teams. This is a senior, high-visibility position that sits at the heart of commercial and operational decision-making.

The role focuses on building a strong long-term financial plan, backing growth priorities, and improving the quality of financial planning and analysis across the business. A major part of the job is turning complex finance and performance data into practical recommendations for senior leaders, with particular attention on B2C marketing effectiveness.

You will work closely with executive management, the board, and outside stakeholders, while also helping modernize finance processes, systems, and reporting so they can scale with the business.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and grow the FP&A and Financial Systems teams.
• Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year planning cycles.
• Create detailed financial models and strategic analyses to support leadership decisions.
• Explain business performance clearly, especially around B2C marketing spend and return on investment.
• Share financial results and strategic guidance with senior executives, board members, and external partners.
• Improve finance systems, reporting tools, and workflows within a Workday Financials setup.
• Streamline finance operations to better support growth and scalability.
• Coach, mentor, and develop strong finance professionals.
• Work in close partnership with commercial, marketing, and operations teams on key initiatives.

Profile and experience

• At least 10 years of experience in finance.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Strong expertise in FP&A, planning, and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with financial systems, preferably Workday Financials.
• Proven ability to build financial models and turn data into strategic insight.
• Background in B2C or fast-growing technology businesses is strongly preferred.
• Confident stakeholder management skills, including exposure to board-level discussions.
• Track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Solid understanding of finance processes end to end.

Compensation

The annual base salary for this position is between €110,000 and €160,000, plus bonus. A higher offer may be considered for candidates with especially relevant experience.
