Job description

Role Overview

The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership position that brings together operational finance, controllership, and strategic planning. In this role, you will guide the finance and accounting organization, strengthen financial reporting, and act as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team. The focus is on creating scalable processes, shaping the function as it grows, and supporting business performance through sound financial leadership.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in SaaS finance, strong judgment across accounting and finance disciplines, and the leadership presence needed to build infrastructure and processes that can support the company’s next stage of growth. That may include continued customer expansion, an acquisition, a debt raise, or a future liquidity event.

This is a remote role, but candidates must be based in the mainland United States and either be a U.S. citizen or hold valid work authorization.

About the Company

ContinuumCloud provides cloud-based software solutions built for the behavioral health and human services sector. Its offerings include an EHR platform powered by Welligent, an HR and payroll system powered by DATIS HR Cloud, and a patient engagement platform powered by CaredFor. Through these products, the company helps organizations deliver high-quality care and support their mission.

What You Will Do

  • Act as a dependable finance partner to leaders across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations.
  • Own annual operating planning, forecast refreshes, long-range planning, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Lead communications with investors and lenders between formal reporting cycles, including quarterly updates, ad hoc requests, and diligence support.
  • Represent the company externally with banks, auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers, and other finance-related partners.
  • Define and manage the company’s cash strategy, including liquidity forecasting, working capital planning, and banking relationships.
  • Oversee the Controller, who manages the day-to-day monthly, quarterly, and annual close; set standards for speed, accuracy, and ongoing improvement.
  • Ensure the accounting team maintains a clean, audit-ready general ledger across all entities, including consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Review technical accounting positions on complex U.S. GAAP topics such as ASC 606, ASC 340-40, and ASC 842, and make the final internal call when needed.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for the annual audit and interim reviews, while supporting the Controller in handling auditor relationships and escalations.
  • Approve accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks so they are suitable for a scaling SaaS business and properly documented and enforced.
  • Lead the FP&A function to ensure reporting is timely, efficient, and decision-useful for the leadership team.
  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range plan, keeping actuals, forecasts, and operating decisions closely aligned.
  • Deliver weekly flash reporting and KPI dashboards, along with accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements ready for board review.
  • Build and maintain SaaS-specific management reporting, including ARR bridges, retention metrics, gross margin by product line, department P&Ls, and key unit economics.
  • Prepare investor reporting packs, lender compliance reporting, and board presentation materials.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including multi-state nexus and SaaS-related sales tax, with support from the Controller and outside advisors.
  • Manage the company’s insurance portfolio, risk management efforts, and corporate entity structure.
  • Directly supervise the Controller and FP&A lead, and help expand the broader finance and accounting team in line with company growth.
  • Own the financial systems strategy, including ERP, billing and revenue recognition automation, and expense management tools.
  • Champion system upgrades and automation projects that reduce manual work, improve data quality, and speed up the close process.
  • Build a culture of accountability, development, and high performance within finance and accounting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least 12 years of progressive finance experience, including 5 or more years in a VP of Finance, Head of Finance, or similar senior position at a SaaS company.
  • Direct experience working in a SaaS or recurring-revenue technology business.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including practical experience with ASC 606 in a multi-element subscription and services environment.
  • Working knowledge of multi-entity consolidations and purchase accounting.
  • Experience leading an annual audit at the executive level, with a Controller or accounting lead handling day-to-day coordination.
  • Management experience with a finance or accounting team of at least 3–5 people, plus a track record of talent development.
  • Hands-on responsibility for FP&A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning in a SaaS or recurring-revenue setting.
  • Strong experience with NetSuite or a similar cloud ERP, including ownership or improvement of financial systems infrastructure.
  • Background supporting a debt facility with covenants, SaaS reporting metrics, and PE or board-level financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting issues into clear, practical language.

Benefits
