About the Role

The Vice President of Business Development is a senior leadership position focused on accelerating company growth through partnerships, market expansion, client acquisition, and new commercial opportunities. In this role, you will shape enterprise growth plans, manage important stakeholder relationships, and help position the organization for long-term profitability and competitive strength.

The organization is a technology-driven enterprise working at the intersection of encryption, blockchain, artificial intelligence, distributed systems, and digital infrastructure for the new energy sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement company-wide business development plans that support overall business goals.
  • Spot new markets, revenue opportunities, and areas for expansion.
  • Lead growth efforts across products, services, partnerships, and strategic investments.
  • Review market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to guide decisions.
  • Support long-range strategies for corporate expansion and stronger market positioning.
  • Develop and maintain high-level relationships with clients, investors, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate major partnerships, contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Identify high-value opportunities and enterprise accounts that can drive growth.
  • Improve customer retention and strategic account management programs.
  • Represent the company in senior-level negotiations and industry-facing engagements.
  • Drive revenue growth through new client acquisition and expanded partnerships.
  • Work with sales and commercial teams to meet financial goals.
  • Build pricing, proposals, and market entry approaches.
  • Support pipeline creation and opportunity forecasting.
  • Track business development KPIs, sales results, and growth indicators.
  • Assess domestic and international opportunities for market expansion.
  • Carry out competitor analysis and business intelligence research.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and partnership possibilities.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
  • Recommend growth actions to executive leadership.
  • Prepare business cases, financial models, and ROI assessments for new initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and investment planning.
  • Partner with finance and operations teams on pricing and profitability strategies.
  • Review operational and financial risks linked to expansion projects.
  • Align business development activity with corporate financial objectives.
  • Lead business development directors, sales leaders, account managers, and partnership teams.
  • Hire, coach, and develop strong commercial leadership talent.
  • Set departmental goals, KPIs, and accountability expectations.
  • Build a collaborative, performance-oriented, and customer-first culture.
  • Support workforce development and succession planning.
  • Partner closely with marketing, operations, finance, legal, product, and executive teams.
  • Contribute to enterprise planning and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Take part in board presentations, investor meetings, and executive strategy discussions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery of partnerships and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related area is required.
  • An MBA or another advanced business qualification is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of experience in business development, sales leadership, strategic partnerships, or corporate growth is needed.
  • Prior executive-level experience overseeing enterprise business development initiatives.
  • Solid experience in commercial negotiations, strategic planning, and revenue generation.
  • Industry experience related to the employer’s sector is an advantage.
