Job Purpose and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Vice President & Associate CHRO will lead the human resources generalist team to manage recruitment, learning and development, employee relations, labor engagement, and employee retention for the company and its various affiliates covering sectors such as real estate development, hospitality, insurance, retail & property management, residential, investment, and wealth management. This role acts as a strategic business partner advising senior leadership on organizational and management issues, fostering strong collaborative relationships across the business.
Key Duties
- Lead the full employee lifecycle from hiring and onboarding through training, performance management, and labor relations.
- Supervise and guide the HR management team to deliver comprehensive organizational support.
- Build and maintain productive partnerships with company leadership through consultative roles.
- Develop and execute strategies for workforce planning, employee engagement, retention, and organizational development aligned with departmental goals.
- Ensure consistent and equitable application of policies, reviewing and communicating company standards and procedures.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, managing unemployment claims, workers' compensation, ADA, and OSHA reporting.
- Oversee employee and labor relations, managing senior-level personnel matters with impartiality and ensuring proper practices to mitigate employment litigation risks.
- Administer compensation programs designed to attract and retain talent, supporting the CHRO as part of the 401(k) committee.
- Engage actively in company events and initiatives aimed at employee development and organizational culture enhancement.
- Maintain high professional and ethical standards organization-wide.
- Undertake special projects as directed.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in human resource management, including at least 7 years of leadership or supervisory roles.
- Strong preference for candidates with background in corporate and multi-unit property management settings.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to cultivate influential and professional relationships.
- Superior verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Comprehensive expertise in all HR discipline areas, including benefits and compensation.
- In-depth knowledge of employment and labor legislation such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and Title VII.
- Adaptability in driving positive organizational change with a highly focused, proactive approach.
- Proven leadership abilities and strong follow-through on initiatives.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or related fields.
- Preferred certifications include SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and Employment Law certifications.
