Vegetation Maintenance Specialist (Forstwirt:in / Gärtner:in) Along Railway Tracks

About the Role

The DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH specializes in construction site safety and vegetation care across the entire Deutsche Bahn rail network. Each year, it secures 100,000 track construction sites using advanced technology and supports railway projects with material logistics. Seven branches and 36 regional service areas manage maintenance for approximately 60,000 kilometers of railway track nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute independent and dependable vegetation maintenance alongside the rail network to ensure trains run safely and reliably.
• Operate professional equipment such as chainsaws, brush cutters, mulching machines, and specialized machinery, including safe tree felling and appropriate disposal of cuttings.
• Identify and rectify quality deficiencies autonomously, always acting in safety’s best interest.
• Detect potential risks in vegetation promptly with a trained eye and address the critical areas effectively.

Candidate Profile

• You have successfully completed professional training as a forestry worker (Forstwirt:in), gardener (Gärtner:in) specializing in landscape gardening, or have equivalent experience in vegetation management.
• You have already obtained a motor chainsaw certificate or are willing to acquire it with us.
• Ideally, you possess a valid driving license class B and your own vehicle for daily travel to construction sites and transportation of equipment.
• You are motivated to develop personally and professionally to reliably perform your responsible tasks long-term.
