Vegetable Farm Worker

Role overview

This position is based at a greenhouse farm in Jarvis, Ontario. The work must be carried out in person at the physical site, with no remote option available. The employer is open to relocating candidates.

Language

English proficiency is required.

Education and experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is needed. Training will be provided on the job.

Work environment

• Wet and damp conditions
• Hot working environment
• Greenhouse setting

Duties

• Plant, tend, and water crops
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Move seedlings or rooted cuttings into place
• Watch for and report insect or disease damage
• Carry out general labour tasks
• Support grafting-related work
• Use and operate machinery as required

Crop specialization

Work will focus on greenhouse vegetables.

• Long periods of standing
• Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling

Weight handling

Items may need to be handled up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
