About the Role
Join Google as a UX Designer specializing in Google TV, where you will be instrumental in crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences for millions of users in their living rooms. At Google, the focus is always on users first, creating seamless interactions from initial concepts to polished products. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to incorporate user insights and design innovative products that stand out in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for users in all product conversations, ensuring platform demands do not detract from the essential human experience.
- Integrate AI technologies into your design workflow to quickly prototype and refine predictive interfaces that anticipate user intentions.
- Design and prototype next-generation TV interactions that use voice, gesture, and AI-driven inputs fluidly.
- Oversee the full design lifecycle of the TV Operating System, addressing user challenges and delivering sophisticated solutions.
- Work closely with Product Managers and engineers to convert business objectives into design strategies that meet Google's high standards for innovation and quality.
- Lead the evolution and expansion of the Google TV Design System to ensure it remains contemporary, scalable, and responsive to global trends and partner requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 4 years' experience in interaction or user experience design within product design.
- Proficiency in UX visual design principles such as typography, color theory, and visual storytelling, with experience using Figma and related tools.
- A portfolio focused on consumer products for Android or 10-foot interfaces must be included with your application, providing accessible links or instructions.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating within complex, cross-functional environments.
- At least 1 year of leadership experience on design projects.
- Design experience for TV, mobile (such as Android), and other devices.
- A portfolio demonstrating practical use of AI workflows in design.
