About the Role
At Google, the mantra is to prioritize the user above all else. Our Visual Designers craft intuitive and accessible interfaces by skillfully integrating space, typography, color, and iconography throughout our products. Joining the multi-disciplinary UX team, you will work closely with Engineering and Product Management leveraging user-centered insights to develop outstanding products. At YouTube, the mission is to empower everyone to express their stories, connect, and build community through cutting-edge technology and creativity.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine the design framework in collaboration with leadership to ensure a unified approach across all Google products.
- Coordinate across different programs to standardize and enhance asset management tools, processes, and communications.
- Engage principal contributors to drive concept development influencing overall product visuals, style direction, and commitments.
- Protect the integrity of Google’s products, its brand values, and unique proposition, maintaining consistency alongside the master Google brand.
- Collaborate with internal visual teams to innovate and apply fresh design styles and aesthetics across product suites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience.
- Minimum of four years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI roles.
- Excellent portfolio or website showcasing your design work, with accessible links provided in your application.
- Preferably, a Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or closely related field.
- At least two years dealing with complex, interdisciplinary organizations.
- One or more years leading design initiatives.
- Experience designing user-facing consumer products.
