Job description
Overview
LN Land Development Technologies Inc. is hiring a Utility Locator for work based in Lacombe, Alberta. This is a full-time position that must be performed at the worksite; remote work is not available.
Language
English communication is required.
Education
No degree, certificate, or diploma is needed for this role.
Experience
Applicants should have between 2 and less than 3 years of relevant experience.
Work Setting
The work may involve assignments at different locations.
Key Duties
- Maintain records of the tasks completed, including the location and condition of equipment used.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Use a range of vehicles and equipment as part of the job.
- Share information related to underground gas distribution lines.
- Monitor excavation activity to help protect underground infrastructure.
- Identify exact locations with electronic distance-measuring tools.
Credentials
Required certifications, licences, memberships, or training include Ground Disturbance - Level 1 and a WHMIS Certificate.

Security and Safety
A driving record check (abstract) is required.
Transportation and Travel
A valid driver's licence is required, and the employer provides a vehicle.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
The role calls for strong attention to detail and involves a mix of sitting, standing, and walking. It also requires bending, crouching, kneeling, physically demanding work, and the ability to perform under pressure.
Own Tools and Equipment
Candidates must have steel-toed safety boots, gloves, safety equipment or gear, a hard hat, and a safety vest.
