Job description

Role overview

This part-time Utilities Operations Manager position is based in Abu Dhabi and follows a hybrid setup, allowing a mix of on-site attendance and work-from-home flexibility. The role is centered on keeping utility services running smoothly, efficiently, and in a cost-conscious manner.

What you will do

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of utilities such as electricity, water, and related building infrastructure.
  • Track utility performance and address operational concerns or service interruptions as they arise.
  • Arrange and supervise routine maintenance activities to maintain service continuity.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and vendors to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Review utility usage data to spot waste, improve efficiency, and support optimization efforts.
  • Implement improvements while staying aligned with applicable regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to support utility operations.
  • Prepare recurring reports and contribute to budgeting as well as longer-term utility planning.

Qualifications

Applicants should have experience in utilities operations, facilities management, or infrastructure services, preferably in a corporate or financial services setting. The role calls for strong analytical ability, reporting skills, and familiarity with basic analytics tools. A good understanding of UAE health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements relevant to utilities and building services is important. The candidate must also be comfortable managing vendors, coordinating with internal teams, and handling multiple priorities in a part-time hybrid arrangement.

Preferred background

A diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, utilities management, or a similar field is preferred. Experience with energy-saving initiatives, sustainability efforts, or utility cost-reduction projects will be an added advantage.

Communication

Strong written and spoken English is required, and Arabic language ability is considered a plus.
