About the role

Strada is looking for a US Payroll Tier 3 professional to support payroll operations from Kochi, Kerala. The role sits within a people, payroll, and technology organization that delivers cloud-based workforce solutions across more than 180 countries. In this position, you will help keep payroll processes accurate, timely, and compliant while partnering with internal teams and supporting client queries.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily payroll activities together with Tier 2, the Payroll Team Lead, and the Payroll Manager.
  • Respond to client questions related to payroll and provide timely assistance.
  • Prepare payroll reports and share them with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the tax and garnishment teams to improve payroll flow and issue resolution.
  • Train Tier 2 team members on payroll procedures and operational steps.
  • Create process documentation for payroll tasks and controls.
  • Review and approve payroll transmittal reports.
  • Step in to manage the payroll team when the Team Lead is unavailable.
  • Coordinate payroll transmittal activities to ensure payroll is completed on schedule.
  • Prepare detailed root-cause analyses for payroll issues and escalations, including preventive actions.
  • Carry out regular audits of payroll procedures and records.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in US payroll laws and tax obligations.
  • Strong Excel capability, including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Macros.
  • Deep understanding of payroll testing, mapping, reporting, and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • A 3-year degree or diploma.
  • Flexibility to work US shifts, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm EST.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends when required.
  • FPC or a payroll certification is an added advantage.
