Job description

Role overview

Elite Processing Team is hiring an experienced remote mortgage loan processor to support a U.S.-focused wholesale lending operation. In this role, you will own residential mortgage files from intake through funding, serving as the main coordination point for loan officers, borrowers, underwriters, title/escrow teams, and lenders. The goal is to keep files advancing efficiently toward a 15-business-day clear-to-close timeline.

This position is designed for a self-sufficient processor who can manage files independently, work across time zones, and handle the full processing cycle with strong attention to accuracy, compliance, and communication. English and Arabic speaking capability is required.

Company context

Elite Processing Team is a U.S.-based mortgage processing company supporting mortgage brokers and loan officers across the country. The organization works in the wholesale lending channel and partners with lenders such as UWM, NewRez/Shellpoint, PennyMac, A&D Mortgage, Rocket Pro TPO, Freedom Mortgage, Plaza Home Mortgage, and others. The team is building a remote processing function in India to support a continuous processing cycle for U.S. lending partners.

Key responsibilities

You will independently manage a live pipeline of residential mortgage files, starting from submission and carrying each file through funding and post-close follow-up. The role requires end-to-end file ownership rather than simple data entry or narrow task support.

  • Handle approximately 30 to 50 active mortgage files at the same time.
  • Review incoming loan files, including the 1003, credit report, AUS findings, and initial supporting documents.
  • Order and track third-party services such as appraisal, title, flood certification, homeowner’s insurance, verification of employment, condo documents, and payoff statements.
  • Complete income analysis for W-2, self-employed, rental, pension, SSI, and commission-based borrowers.
  • Review bank and asset statements, identify the source and seasoning of funds, and explain large deposits according to agency rules.
  • Assemble full underwriting packages and submit them through lender portals.
  • Interpret DU/LP findings and identify all conditions marked PTD, PTC, and PTFF.
  • Resolve underwriting conditions by preparing written letters of explanation, collecting updated documents, and obtaining third-party verifications.
  • Manage TRID timing requirements, including issuing Loan Estimates and coordinating Closing Disclosure delivery within required timelines.
  • Coordinate clear-to-close steps with title and escrow, verify cash-to-close numbers, and arrange signing.
  • Maintain regular communication with loan officers, borrowers, realtors, and settlement agents, with daily status updates expected.
  • Keep the loan origination system updated with accurate milestones throughout the life of each file.
  • Complete post-close review and upload trailing documents to lender portals within required deadlines.

Platform and lender environment

The role requires practical experience with wholesale mortgage workflows, including broker-to-lender processes, lender-specific guidelines, and portal-based submissions. Experience in retail bank processing or general data-entry support will not be considered equivalent.

You should be familiar with systems and tools such as Encompass, BytePro, Calyx Point, DU, LP, UWM TRAC, POWER+, NewRez, A&D Mortgage portals, income analysis tools, VOE platforms, DocuSign, DocMagic, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and TRID-related timelines and disclosures.

Required experience and qualifications

Applicants must have at least 3 years of U.S. residential mortgage processing experience and must have handled files from submission through funding. Independent condition-clearing experience is essential, along with exposure to multiple wholesale lenders and more than one loan type.

  • Minimum 3 years of U.S. residential mortgage processing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing files from submission to funding.
  • Hands-on experience resolving underwriting conditions without relying on a team lead for every step.
  • Exposure to multiple wholesale lenders, not only a single institution.
  • Experience with a range of mortgage products, not just conventional loans.
  • Ability to manage a personal pipeline independently.
  • Strong written English for professional emails and file notes.
  • Strong spoken English for daily conversations with U.S.-based clients and vendors.
  • Comfort communicating complex file conditions in a clear, calm way to borrowers.
  • Professional, proactive communication style.
  • Comfort using video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet.

Loan product knowledge expected

Applicants should be comfortable working with a broad mix of U.S. mortgage programs, including FHA, VA, Conventional, DSCR, Non-QM, Jumbo, USDA, refinance transactions, and related special cases such as streamline refinance, cash-out refinance, HELOC, and investor programs.

Work schedule and employment details

This is a 100% remote role based in India. The work schedule must overlap with U.S. business hours across EST, CST, and PST. The employer is open to full-time employment and also notes that contract positions may be available. The opening is immediate, with rolling start dates.

Compensation and setup

The posted pay is $4 per hour in USD equivalent, depending on experience. The role is remote and intended to be performed from a home office. Performance-based bonuses are also mentioned, linked to file quality and cycle performance.

Additional information

This role is not intended for candidates with backgrounds limited to large retail banks, consumer lending operations, call center processing, pure data entry, sales/origination-only work, single-loan-type processing, or condition clearing handled entirely by someone else. The company is looking for processors who understand the full wholesale workflow and can take ownership from day one.

The position reports to Deepa Patel, Director of Operations. HR contact is Amul Patel, HR Director.

Who can apply

Graduation is not mandatory for this opening. Candidates should already have strong U.S. mortgage processing experience and be able to work independently in an English- and Arabic-speaking environment.
