Job description
Role overview
This position focuses on US accounting work for a professional services / IT environment. The role involves end-to-end accounting support, close processes, reconciliations, reporting support, and coordination with internal teams as well as an outside CPA firm.
Key responsibilities
- Handle complete accounting cycles and month-end close tasks, including intercompany entries, journal posting, account reconciliations, multi-currency transactions, and consolidation work.
- Support other teams across the business, such as Business Development, Project Management, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Work with an external CPA firm to help prepare financial statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations while ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Review vendor bills and expense reports.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications and requirements
- Hands-on bookkeeping experience in a professional services or IT firm using QuickBooks Online is mandatory.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams is required.
- Prior exposure to full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, and month-end or year-end closing is needed.
- The role calls for someone detail-oriented with strong analytical, functional, and organizational abilities.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred as the ideal academic background.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Xero is expected.
- The candidate should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
