Role Overview
This position is for an Urban Planner who will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of urban and regional initiatives that support sustainable development and improve everyday living conditions.
The role involves partnering with architects, engineers, public authorities, developers, and community representatives to shape solutions that consider social, economic, and environmental priorities together.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and assess plans for urban, regional, and neighborhood-level development.
- Review land use, population, transport, environmental, and economic data to inform planning decisions.
- Assist with zoning matters, development assessments, and planning policy work.
- Create reports, slide decks, maps, and other technical planning materials.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and development assignments.
- Participate in discussions with stakeholders, local communities, and public-sector bodies throughout planning activities.
- Check development submissions against planning rules, standards, and policy requirements.
- Contribute to sustainability, resilience, and smart city programs.
- Research trends related to cities, housing, mobility, and community needs.
- Support strategic plans and long-term development frameworks.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Geography, Architecture, Environmental Planning, or a similar discipline.
- Between 2 and 5 years of relevant experience in urban planning, land-use planning, community development, or a comparable area.
- Working knowledge of planning fundamentals, zoning rules, and development approval processes.
- GIS, mapping, and spatial analysis experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong ability in research, analysis, and problem-solving.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, along with good presentation ability.
- Comfort working with varied stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Exposure to sustainability, transportation planning, and community engagement practices.
- Professional planning certification or membership is considered an advantage.
