Job description

Role overview

This position supports front-line communication and patient flow by managing the switchboard and public address system, while also handling registration and scheduling tasks for patients.

Primary duties

  • Answer incoming calls and relay messages as needed.
  • Provide support at the information kiosk.
  • Register patients and/or arrange appointments and schedules.
  • Enter information into clinical information systems.
  • Create and keep patient files up to date.
  • Monitor and update bed-tracking systems.
  • Carry out general clerical and administrative work.

Qualifications

  • A high school education combined with at least six months of administrative support training, or five years of recent experience within the past eight years in a 1065 role, is accepted as equivalent.
  • Completion of medical terminology and keyboarding coursework is required.
  • The candidate must be able to report to work consistently and reliably.
  • The applicant should be capable of performing all duties associated with the role.
  • A solid work history is expected.

Testing and verified proficiency

  • Data entry speed of 4000 KSPH.
  • Medical terminology spelling score of 75%.
  • Medical terminology vocabulary score of 75%.
