Role overview
Centerstone is looking for a therapist who has experience working with people dealing with mental health concerns and substance use disorders. This position is part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. No weekend shifts or on-call duties are required.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships by meeting clients as scheduled and supporting rapport development.
- Complete provisional diagnostic assessments using available information and determine when risk evaluations, including substance use screening, are needed.
- Finish documentation within 24 hours and keep progress notes aligned with current agency standards.
- Provide assessment services and, when appropriate, individual and family therapy for clients with substance use concerns.
- Create, document, implement, review, and update treatment goals and care plans based on ongoing assessment and each person’s strengths and input.
- Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients manage mental health or substance use diagnoses.
- Respond to urgent care needs and help cover vacant caseloads as directed, including phone-based and in-person intervention.
- Keep the administrative supervisor updated on issues that may affect the program or the organization.
Skills and abilities
The role calls for strong written and verbal communication, including virtual and face-to-face interaction. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools and should be highly organized, coordinated, and able to plan effectively. Timely, professional client service and sound clinical judgment are also important.
Education and experience
A master’s degree is required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Mental Health Counseling specialization. License eligibility in the relevant discipline is preferred.
Applicants with a master’s degree in another related field may also be considered if they have at least 24 graduate semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health coursework, along with relevant study and experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning, assessment of mental disorders, psychopathology, and DSM-based diagnosis completed during a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting.
Clinical experience is required and may come from practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s program.
Work schedule and conditions
This is a full-time onsite role. Weekend and on-call work are not part of the schedule.
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 per year. The posted pay range is listed as $0.00 to $0.00.
