Role Overview
The Director of Organizational Learning & Development will guide the strategy and execution of learning, leadership growth, talent development, and workforce readiness efforts. This leader will help create a strong learning culture, improve employee capability, support retention and engagement, and align development programs with business and mission goals.
The position partners closely with executive, operational, and People & Culture leadership while overseeing the Organizational Learning & Development and Licensure Supervision teams. The role also drives leadership development, succession planning, training design, career development, and other enterprise learning initiatives.
Core Areas of Ownership
- Shape and continuously improve organization-wide learning and development strategy.
- Evaluate learning needs, capability gaps, and workforce readiness across the organization.
- Create development solutions that improve performance, engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Design leadership programs for people leaders and emerging leaders.
- Oversee orientation, required training, role-based training plans, and professional development offerings.
- Manage the learning management system and related learning technologies.
- Support accreditation, compliance, and credentialing-related training requirements.
- Measure program outcomes and use data to refine learning effectiveness.
- Lead and develop staff while managing department budgets and resources.
- Build partnerships that support workforce development, employer brand, and educational collaborations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise learning strategies and organizational development initiatives.
- Conduct assessments and analyses to identify learning gaps and capability needs.
- Align learning programs with operational priorities and strategic objectives.
- Build leadership development, mentorship, succession planning, and soft-skills programs.
- Direct orientation, annual training, professional development, internship, and job-specific learning programs.
- Administer and improve the LMS, learning content standards, and instructional design practices.
- Ensure training efforts meet legal, regulatory, accreditation, and compliance expectations.
- Oversee workforce readiness programs such as CPI, CPR/First Aid, and licensure supervision support.
- Track learning metrics, learner feedback, business results, and ROI indicators.
- Present reports and recommendations to senior leaders.
- Coach, manage, and develop team members, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and corrective action when needed.
- Manage budgets and monitor financial performance of learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to solve business challenges through learning solutions.
- Support belonging, engagement, employee experience, and culture-building efforts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Talent Development, Human Resources, or a similar area.
- Background leading organization-wide learning initiatives.
- Experience managing teams, budgets, and change initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with LMS platforms and training technologies.
- Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, leadership development, and organizational development practices.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, coaching, and consulting ability.
- Understanding of accreditation, regulatory, and compliance training requirements.
- Ability to work with workforce data and learning metrics to inform decisions.
- Experience building succession planning and talent development approaches.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with executive and operational leaders.
- Willingness to travel as needed.

Employment Details
This is a full-time position based onsite in Nashville, Tennessee.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $108,920 to $163,400 per year.
