Position Overview
The University and Early Careers Recruiter will play a key role in partnering with hiring teams to manage the full recruitment lifecycle. The role focuses on sourcing top student talent from prominent universities specializing in AI, engineering, machine learning, data analytics, and computer science, to fill internships, fellowships, and early-career full-time positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for internships, fellowships, and entry-level full-time roles.
- Collaborate with hiring managers using data to advise on talent sourcing, availability, and timelines.
- Align recruiting strategies with the University Recruiting Senior Manager to meet hiring targets for emerging talent.
- Serve as a campus liaison for career fairs, hackathons, symposiums, and virtual events.
- Establish and maintain long-term relationships with academic institutions, faculty, and research centers to position MITRE as an employer of choice.
- Partner with marketing and business teams to develop recruitment campaigns enhancing MITRE’s brand.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely updates, transparency, and personalized engagement.
- Engage warmly with referrals, conduct outreach, and convert prospects at on-campus events into applicants.
- Utilize sourcing platforms, events, academic partnerships, and social media to build robust candidate pipelines.
- Create offers within the Workday system and negotiate terms as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years recruiting/talent acquisition experience, including at least 3 years in campus recruiting.
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years; PhD holders with relevant experience considered.
- Strong understanding of emerging fields including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of requisitions.
- Exceptional skills in stakeholder management and consultation at all managerial levels.
- Experience with ATS/HCM systems; preferably Workday.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, with an expectation of being on-site at least two days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in government contracting or non-profit recruiting with knowledge of government hiring practices and security clearances.
- Experience in professional services, technology sectors, or government contractor environments.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to foster trust and collaboration across diverse teams.
