Role Overview

The Underwriting Officer/Sr. Officer (Property & Casualty) will manage corporate insurance accounts and support the underwriting of Property, Engineering, Casualty, and General Accident business. The role focuses on evaluating risks, setting pricing and coverage terms, preparing quotations, and coordinating with clients and brokers while staying within company authority and underwriting standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle servicing needs for QIC Group’s existing corporate customers across Property, Engineering, Casualty, and General Accident insurance lines.
  • Assess and underwrite acceptable risks within the limits assigned in the Operations Manual.
  • Work out insurance premiums, coverage scope, and other contractual conditions.
  • Review risk exposure and issue quotations in accordance with the company’s underwriting rules and reinsurance structure.
  • Discuss and agree on premium rates and policy wording/terms with clients and insurance brokers.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 5 to 7 years of experience in underwriting corporate accounts for Property, Engineering, Casualty, and General Accident lines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Strong technical underwriting capability along with marketing awareness.
  • Solid understanding of insurance products and services.
  • Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite role based in Doha, Qatar.
