  • Check renewal submissions and requests for proposals for accuracy, including utilization and experience data.
  • Assess and discuss possible pricing alternatives and plan options for new and renewing business with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with Sales and Account Management to forecast pricing and profitability and contribute to business strategy development.
  • Handle account-specific support such as annual renewal preparation, ad hoc reporting, consultations, and related needs.

Requirements

  • Strong background in healthcare underwriting across products such as PPO, HMO, self-funded, ASO, fully insured, and/or group or individual plans.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets to inform underwriting recommendations and pricing decisions.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel for analysis and modeling, plus Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and a history of producing accurate, high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to different audiences.
  • Negotiation and influencing ability to help achieve business results while managing risk.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience working across functions such as sales, actuarial, and account management to deliver customer-focused outcomes.
  • A continuous-improvement mindset with interest in process optimization and operational efficiency.
