Job description

Position overview

This role supports underwriting operations within defined authority levels, service guidelines, and service standards. Success in the position depends on being accurate, working well with others, and coordinating effectively with both internal teams and external partners so production outcomes stay aligned with targets and plans.

Core duties

  • Prepare submission materials for underwriting review when the request falls outside delegated authority, using GenNext.
  • Support the Underwriter by following up with producers and coordinating census or data needed for policies that are still pending issuance.
  • Check and interpret data and census information submitted by producers for policy issuance and billing purposes.
  • Respond to questions from producers regarding issued policies and billing matters.
  • Carry out routine underwriting administration, including acknowledging producer instructions related to movements, ad-hoc trips, and other updates to active policies.
  • Make policy endorsements where this is required.
  • Support underwriting and quotation work for policies and accounts as part of role development and training.
  • Maintain the team’s trackers and logs so records stay current.
  • Assist with credit control-related administrative tasks for the underwriting team.
  • Handle assigned projects, including user acceptance testing for system or product enhancements, along with any other duties given.

Requirements

  • A diploma or degree in any discipline is required.
  • BCP and PGI certifications are mandatory.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Applicants should have 1 to 2 years of experience in the insurance sector; however, fresh diploma or degree graduates may also be considered.
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities are needed.
  • The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable working as part of a team.

Additional information

The role is based in Singapore and is a full-time onsite position.
