Job description

Overview

A24 is hiring a Financial Analyst to join its Finance team and support the rapid growth of its television business. This role blends deal evaluation, corporate finance, and day-to-day operational support. You will help build the financial models that inform show greenlights, assess risks and upside across the TV slate, analyze development spending, and monitor KPI reporting. The position partners closely with TV leadership and plays a key role in scaling the business.

This is a high-responsibility role with an unpredictable pace. Because negotiations for term sheets, talent agreements, and model revisions may happen outside standard business hours, the ideal candidate should be highly responsive and comfortable working on shifting timelines. In return, the role offers direct exposure to how a premium television business is structured and managed, from deal-making to slate planning.

Responsibilities

  • Build and update greenlight financial models for scripted and unscripted television projects spanning A24’s operations in Los Angeles, New York, and London, including episodic budgets, license fees, and multi-territory tax incentives to produce project P&Ls and ultimates.
  • Develop strong expertise in residuals and complex talent participation structures, such as backend definitions, proceeds formulas, and guild obligations, and ensure they are accurately incorporated into models.
  • Evaluate how different production cash flow, tax credit, and license fee timing scenarios affect interest costs and use those insights to support deal negotiations.
  • Partner with Business Affairs to compare alternative deal structures, rights packages, and financing options, and recommend the arrangements that maximize value for A24.
  • Build fluency in A24’s TV business formats, including worldwide cost-plus streamer deals, deficit-financed projects using multi-window foreign sales, and co-productions with international partners.
  • Monitor and reconcile episodic and season-level actuals against approved greenlight estimates to maintain up-to-date visibility into overruns, scope changes, and contingency use.
  • Own the long-range financial plan for the TV slate by consolidating project forecasts into the annual operating plan and quarterly reforecast, integrated with the corporate financial model.
  • Maintain project-level and slate-level cash flow forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis across actuals, budget, and prior forecast to identify and explain key drivers of change.
  • Design scalable systems to track, analyze, and report development spending across the active TV slate, giving leadership timely visibility into commitments, spend, and KPIs.
  • Support the annual budgeting cycle by preparing detailed project-level budget submissions.
  • Generate recurring leadership reporting, including KPI updates, budget pacing, and slate performance summaries.
  • Act as the main finance contact for TV Development, Production, and Business Affairs teams across LA, New York, and the UK, including participation in greenlight meetings and production planning sessions.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance, Production Finance, and Legal to deliver accurate cash flow forecasts and support project financing close work.
  • Work with Sales teams to update revenue assumptions as domestic and international distribution deals are executed.
  • Maintain TV project databases and finance tracking tools, including Airtable-based trackers and Pigment or similar FP&A systems, while preserving data quality and accessibility.
  • Prepare materials for internal leadership reviews, board presentations, and occasional investor or lender meetings by turning complex multi-project finance topics into clear presentations.
  • Identify ways to improve information flow between Corporate Finance, TV, Production Finance, and Business Affairs, and help implement scalable solutions that reduce friction and improve visibility.
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve financial workflows such as modeling, variance analysis, reporting, and data consolidation, with a focus on efficiency and higher-value analysis.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in entertainment finance, investment banking, or corporate finance; prior exposure to TV or film production finance or content deal analysis is strongly preferred, and experience at a studio, streamer, or media company is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including clean model structure, dynamic scenario work, sensitivity analysis, and waterfall modeling; familiarity with Pigment is a plus.
  • Ability to build and manage structured databases in Airtable or comparable tools; strong PowerPoint skills are required.
  • Proven ability to turn complex financial outputs into clear executive-level storytelling without heavy jargon.
  • A practical, collaborative, and solution-focused mindset, along with genuine interest in television.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Capability to read and interpret legal agreements and identify the financial terms that matter.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP reporting and comfort analyzing P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to juggle multiple urgent priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work across teams and present to senior stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Eligible for an annual performance bonus with both cash and equity elements.
  • Competitive healthcare coverage.
  • Other employee benefits.
