Job description
Role overview
This role is responsible for gathering, updating, and safeguarding complete and accurate information on all cancer cases diagnosed and/or treated within RRMC. The position supports adherence to an approved Cancer Program in line with the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC) standards.
Key duties
In addition to registry coordination, this position helps support cancer committee meetings and agenda preparation, tumor board activities, registry operations, data collection, quality management, and submission of cancer-related data to the CoC, National Cancer Data Base (NCDB), the State of Vermont, and other accrediting organizations. The role also involves reviewing cancer data, reporting findings, and using that information to support quality improvement and the continued development of regional cancer programs.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with completion of a college-level Anatomy and Physiology course. Candidates should bring prior medical office experience and tumor registry experience.
Certification and skills
Applicants must hold a Certified Tumor Registrar credential. The role also calls for strong medical terminology knowledge, clear verbal and written communication, moderate Microsoft Office proficiency, presentation ability, and accurate keyboarding/data entry skills.
Compensation
The stated pay range is $26.57 to $38.71 per hour.
