About the Role
RACQ is expanding its team and invites dedicated individuals to join as Tow Truck Drivers and Vehicle Recovery Officers. These roles are essential in providing roadside assistance to Queenslanders, ensuring their safety and swift recovery during vehicle breakdowns. You will operate a modern fleet of tilt tray vehicles, delivering reliable and compassionate service that embodies RACQ's trusted reputation.
Responsibilities and Work Details
- Deliver prompt and professional roadside assistance to members and the community using RACQ's tilt tray vehicles.
- Focus exclusively on member roadside assistance, with no involvement in smash towing activities, maintaining high standards of care and service.
- Maintain safety protocols and provide reassurance to motorists during stressful situations on the road.
- Work a rotating 38-hour roster consisting of 8 to 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with one Saturday shift every six weeks.
- Start and finish each workday at the Eight Mile Plains location.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Must possess a clean driving record with no infractions for the past five years.
- Hold a Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s license with at least two years of experience and a General Induction White Card.
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and computer systems for job-related tasks.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively manage conflict situations.
- Display strong problem-solving skills in dynamic roadside environments.
- Able and willing to undergo pre-employment medical exams, drug and alcohol testing, and criminal background checks.
Compensation and Benefits
- Earn $38.76 per hour as per the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA), plus superannuation.
