About the Role
Goat Inc. is searching for a sharp, dependable Truck Dispatcher experienced in managing fleet operations and coordinating daily logistics activities. Acting as a crucial intermediary between drivers, freight brokers, and clients, the candidate must excel in rate negotiations, meticulous documentation, and real-time problem solving. The role may be performed remotely or on-site, contingent upon the applicant's profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and dispatch driver loads optimizing routes for profitability while adhering to legal driving hour regulations.
- Maintain continuous communication with drivers to monitor location, arrival times, and delivery progress.
- Address emergency incidents such as vehicle breakdowns, weather disruptions, or delays at loading/unloading points promptly.
- Utilize load boards and broker contacts to find suitable loads.
- Negotiate competitive rates with brokers to maximize revenue per mile.
- Assess broker creditworthiness and confirm rates accurately before dispatching.
- Develop and nurture enduring professional relationships with brokers to secure exclusive freight lanes.
- Ensure all Bills of Lading are properly signed and clean at pickup and delivery.
- Collect immediately after delivery all Proof of Delivery and Rate Confirmations to facilitate timely billing and factoring processes.
- Verify and document all additional charges such as lumpers, detentions, and layovers for inclusion in final invoices.
Candidate Requirements
- At least one year of experience in US freight dispatching involving Dry Van, Reefer, or Flatbed freight.
- Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when interacting with US brokers and drivers.
- Comprehensive understanding of US geography, including states, major interstate highways, and time zones.
- Technologically adept using load boards like DAT Power and Truckstop, email platforms (Outlook or Gmail), and basic Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Possession of a reliable computer, fast internet connection, and noise-canceling headset is mandatory.
- Detail-oriented to prevent delays related to missing documentation as missing Proof of Delivery equates to lost payment.
- Resilient and thick-skinned to manage the pressures of the trucking field and negotiate firmly yet professionally.
- Consistently punctual, particularly adhering to US working shifts every day.
Additional Information
The position offers flexible employment types, including full-time or part-time schedules. The monthly pay scales from ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 based on experience.
