Position Overview
This opening is for a Trial Court Clerk V in Grade 34, based in the 18th Judicial District in Wichita, Kansas. The annual pay for the role is $57,659.66. The position number is K0071403.
Role Summary
This is a highly accountable supervisory role with some administrative responsibility within the Clerk of the District Court office in one of the state’s largest judicial districts. The position focuses on keeping case-processing practices and systems aligned across departments, supporting productivity monitoring, assisting with key reports, and representing the clerk’s office in meetings and committee work as assigned. The work is carried out under the general supervision of the Clerk of the District Court.
Key Duties
The role includes coordinating department supervisors, helping ensure consistent procedures across the court, tracking performance in assigned areas, supporting critical reporting, attending meetings and committees on behalf of the office, and handling daily interaction with team members. It also involves conducting reviews and evaluations of staff.
Preferred Background
Applicants are preferred to have a high school diploma plus four years of clerical experience, with at least three years in court clerical work or a closely related area, and one year of supervisory experience. A four-year degree from an accredited college or university may replace the required clerical and/or supervisory experience. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is also desired.
