Job description
Position Overview
This role entails carrying out essential treasury responsibilities on a daily basis while supporting regular operations and contributing to additional projects as needed.
Primary Duties
- Analyze and validate cash flow forecasts at local and regional levels.
- Monitor cash liquidity by reviewing balances across various accounts, entities, countries, and regions.
- Evaluate cash flow variance reports to guarantee no detrimental effects on group liquidity.
- Conduct monthly discussions with country Finance Managers to understand business cash flow dynamics.
- Coordinate with Puma and banking partners in the region to address operational inquiries promptly.
- Formulate liquidity management strategies and supervise liquidity and debt administration for assigned entities.
- Manage debt obligations and financing facilities to secure cost-effective funding.
- Engage in facility renewal negotiations alongside the Regional Treasury Head and banking partners.
- Establish and uphold Treasury policies, procedures, and key performance indicators ensuring compliance and control standards.
- Facilitate intercompany process maintenance and ensure correct execution of new loan agreements in collaboration with Company Secretary.
- Oversee foreign exchange procurement and payments, ensuring reconciliation and adherence to financial controls.
- Audit FX transactions and monitor balance sheet exposures related to foreign exchange.
- Document all FX trades accurately within the system.
- Support Group Treasury activities including analytical and strategic initiatives.
- Provide necessary confirmations and support for accounting and audit teams.
Cash and Liquidity Management
- Manage overall liquidity levels efficiently.
- Optimize interest expenses and income.
- Coordinate all intercompany cash movements.
- Oversee management of bank fees.
Cash Forecasting Responsibilities
- Update daily cash balances.
- Identify working capital requirements and recommend viable solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage banking relationships within the operational region.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all countries under responsibility.
- Adhere to Puma Energy's operational processes and policies.
- Maintain and update bank signatory authorities.
- Stay current with local regulatory and liquidity developments.
- Prepare weekly treasury reports.
- Assist in implementation of the Kyriba treasury management system.
- Support requests for proposals (RFP) and their execution across countries.
- Handle treasury inquiries and resolve audit findings promptly.
- Complete timely and accurate submissions in KissFlow workflow system.
- Provide treasury support for new market entries within the region.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Treasury, or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in treasury functions.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of treasury operations, banking, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in both English and French languages.
- Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications for financial analysis.
