Role Overview
Ibn Batuttah Travel Info Pvt Ltd is hiring a Travel Specialist for its Delhi NCR office, which is currently being set up. This is a full-time office role for someone who can join immediately and bring 3 to 4 years of travel-industry experience. The position offers a salary of INR 33,000 per month.
About the Company
Ibn Batuttah is building a travel technology platform designed to connect mid-sized travel agents with global travel demand. The platform enables travel vendors to manage holiday packages, access flight and hotel inventory across markets, and set their own pricing so they can reach customers beyond their existing network.
For travellers, the product is designed to make it easier to compare package prices from different vendors, browse flights and hotels, and create custom itineraries day by day. The system uses live availability, accurate timings, sightseeing schedules, and booking logic to ensure itineraries remain valid and bookable. Users can also compare self-built packages with offers from onboarded travel agents.
The business is in its pre-launch stage, registered in Bihar, and is preparing its Delhi NCR office. The website development is already complete, and the planned launch timeline is by the end of July 2026.
What the Role Involves
- Support travel vendors by onboarding them, guiding them through the platform, and helping them use the available tools to build stronger packages and price them competitively.
- Track travel market movements, destination trends, seasonal demand, and what customers are currently looking for in holiday planning.
- Work with the pricing team to study competitor rates on major travel platforms and share practical pricing suggestions with vendors.
- Manage disputes between vendors and users by reviewing supporting evidence, speaking with both sides, and helping the admin team arrive at a fair resolution.
- Test the website before and after launch, with a focus on travel workflow, itinerary accuracy, sightseeing availability, booking logic, and pricing consistency.
- Coordinate with developers to explain changes, fixes, and feature improvements needed from a travel-domain perspective.
- Contribute ideas directly to the founder and take part in shaping the product from the ground up.
Skills and Experience Needed
- Strong working knowledge of the travel sector, including destinations, package planning, hotel categories, flight bookings, and visa procedures.
- Understanding of how travel agents operate, including pricing structures, markups, package creation, and customer handling.
- Good research ability to monitor trends, pricing shifts, and competitor activity.
- Clear communication skills for dealing with vendors, developers, and leadership.
- Careful attention to detail for catching itinerary errors, rate mismatches, and workflow issues.
- Comfort using everyday digital tools such as dashboards, email, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets.
- Prior experience with travel agencies, tour operators, or online travel platforms such as MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, Thomas Cook, or similar.
- Knowledge of international travel markets, especially the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
- Basic understanding of GST as it applies to travel services.
- Experience managing customer complaints or dispute cases.
- Familiarity with flight and hotel booking platforms such as Booking.com and Expedia.
