Primary Objective Of The Job
The Travel Executive will oversee and manage all aspects of business travel arrangements for Digicel Group employees across its various markets. This role is crucial for ensuring that travel bookings for flights, accommodation, ground transportation, and related services are efficient, compliant with policies, and cost-effective, while also delivering excellent support to traveling staff. The position is part of a compact shared-services team, collaborating with internal departments and authorized travel vendors to meet Digicel’s operational and commercial travel requirements.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate and book business travel for Digicel staff across all markets accurately, compliantly, and in a timely manner.
- Provide proactive travel support to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of travelers and the continuity of business operations.
- Assist with the reconciliation and reporting of travel-related expenses.
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at improving the Group's travel program and reducing costs.
- Manage all aspects of business travel arrangements, including flights, lodging, car rentals, and local transportation, for Digicel markets.
- Process end-to-end booking requests for Digicel employees, adhering strictly to approved travel policies and procedures.
- Offer support to traveling employees, which may extend to non-business hours, weekends, and public holidays.
- Monitor passenger itineraries, airline queues, and travel advisories to preemptively address and mitigate travel disruptions, delays, or cancellations.
- Uphold Digicel’s Travel Policy to maximize cost savings and ensure consistent adherence across all markets.
- Actively search for and secure lower fares and seats on high-demand flights by monitoring fare availability and system inventories.
- Identify and address policy violations, escalating significant or recurring breaches as necessary.
- Reconcile travel credit card charges to facilitate accurate back-office accounting and reporting.
- Maintain meticulous records of travel arrangements, documentation, and booking confirmations for audit and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, HR, and business stakeholders to effectively support operational travel needs and resolve issues promptly.
- Support projects designed to enhance travel processes, service quality, and the overall traveler experience.
- Generate regular reports for management detailing expenditures, airline spending, frequent travelers, and other relevant travel metrics.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as assigned to support Digicel Group's business objectives.
Qualifications And Experience Required
- Possess a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate travel, a travel agency setting, or a shared-services travel function.
- Have at least 3–5 years of practical experience utilizing the Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) for booking travel, managing PNRs, handling itinerary modifications, and providing traveler support.
- A Bachelor's degree is considered an advantage.
- IATA certification or equivalent practical experience with IATA ticketing, including fare rules, refunds, reissues, and airline booking compliance, would be beneficial.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of airline, hotel, and travel booking systems.
- Experience supporting travel operations across multiple markets or regions is advantageous.
- Familiarity with corporate travel policies, fare regulations, and cost-management strategies is required.
- Previous experience providing travel assistance during off-hours or on-call is desirable.

- Exhibit strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with the ability to handle a high volume of bookings efficiently.
- Maintain an excellent customer service focus, capable of assisting travelers in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
- Display a high level of attention to detail, especially in managing bookings, itineraries, and financial reconciliations.
- Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and various travel booking platforms.
