Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position is based in Tallahassee, FL and focuses on trash removal across assigned property areas. The job involves gathering waste and recyclables, moving them to the proper disposal points, and keeping collection spaces neat and organized. Work may include common areas, exterior grounds, and designated units or other spaces as assigned.

Key Duties

Day-to-day work includes carrying bags or containers, operating carts or similar equipment, and making sure trash rooms, dumpsters, and pickup areas remain clean and orderly. The role also calls for following safety procedures, using protective gear correctly, and alerting a supervisor to any hazards or maintenance concerns. In addition, the team member may support light cleanup tasks such as sweeping, removing debris, and helping with other property service needs to maintain a safe and presentable environment.

Qualifications

Applicants should be able to handle physical work safely, including lifting, carrying, bending, and walking for long periods. A strong eye for cleanliness, organization, and detail is important when handling waste and maintaining collection areas. Candidates should understand basic safety practices, including correct use of personal protective equipment and safe waste handling. Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to follow schedules, routes, and instructions with limited supervision are also important. Good communication skills are needed to coordinate with supervisors, coworkers, and property staff. The work may require spending time outdoors in different weather conditions and across various parts of the property. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, or relevant experience in janitorial, custodial, or property maintenance work. A valid driver’s license may be preferred or required depending on site needs and equipment use.
