Job description
Role Overview
The Network Operations Center (NOC) serves as the centralized command center overseeing Transportation Execution within Amazon’s Supply Chain network, supporting regions including North America, India, and Europe. NOC guarantees smooth and timely freight pickup and delivery between vendors, Amazon fulfillment centers, and carrier hubs. It intervenes promptly to address exceptions, keeps stakeholders updated, and optimizes network processes through continuous data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison facilitating communication among various stakeholders, such as carriers, vendors, suppliers, and internal teams including Retail, Finance, Software Support, and Fulfillment Centers.
- Extract and analyze data from multiple databases using tools like Excel, Access, and SQL to generate ad hoc reports.
- Develop and interpret performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
- Define business and functional requirements for technology teams to evolve supporting software systems used by NOC.
- Quickly assess business impacts of network trends and make informed decisions based on available data.
- Escalate issues systematically to appropriate owners and ensure timely resolution.
- Operate effectively under tight deadlines to meet critical business objectives while monitoring activities.
- Communicate findings proficiently, prepare narratives explaining weekly results and deviations, and present in review forums.
- Provide real-time customer experience support within a 24x7 operational environment, inclusive of night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong business communication skills in Japanese; JLPT N2 or N1 certification mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling global stakeholders effectively.
- Proven business communication capabilities in Japanese at N2 level or higher.
Additional Information
The role is based in India and supports Amazon’s Japan operations, necessitating Japanese language expertise. Candidates are expected to work in shifts, including night shifts, to ensure continuous operational coverage.
