Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site translation position in Coimbatore North. The person in this role will work on blog posts, essays, and related creative content, translating between Tamil and English and possibly other relevant language combinations while retaining tone, style, and cultural meaning. The work will involve reading source material carefully, producing initial translations, refining them for smoothness and clarity, and ensuring terminology stays aligned with the blog’s editorial standards.

Key Work Areas

• Translate creative and editorial content while protecting the original voice, tone, and context.
• Review source text carefully and resolve unclear or ambiguous phrasing through coordination with writers and editors.
• Revise drafts so that the translated version reads naturally and remains faithful to the original.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, style, and language use across published pieces.
• Provide basic proofreading support for translated content before publication.
• Help build and update a simple terminology or style reference for recurring use.
• Track deadlines and deliver translations on time to support the publishing schedule.

Qualifications and Skills

The role calls for strong command over Tamil and English, with the ability to translate accurately while preserving meaning and cultural depth. Prior exposure to creative, literary, or blog-style translation is important, along with excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading ability. The candidate should be comfortable researching terminology and references, working closely with a team in person, and managing multiple assignments efficiently. Education

A bachelor’s degree in Languages, Translation, Literature, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience is also acceptable.
