Position Overview
The Training Specialist will oversee the training program for Achieva Support employees, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and organizational standards. This role is vital for developing, delivering, and monitoring training content to promote employee competency and program quality. Reporting to the Compliance Training Manager, and in their absence, to the Vice President of Quality & Compliance, this position requires regular travel between Allegheny and Westmoreland offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals, success, and community inclusion.
- Uphold Achieva's policies, mission, and core values.
- Conduct orientation and training sessions for new and existing employees and management staff.
- Implement annual and as-needed training programs adhering to regulatory and agency standards.
- Adapt training approaches to accommodate diverse learner needs.
- Serve as an advocate and liaison for individuals supported by Achieva.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through reviewing competency exams and reports.
- Maintain accurate records to ensure all personnel meet training requirements prior to and during employment.
- Perform ongoing compliance audits and report issues promptly.
- Prepare detailed training and compliance reports for management and external auditors.
- Collaborate with Compliance Department to identify training needs based on operational changes.
- Manage training distribution via the organization's learning management systems.
- Communicate training requirements to program management and collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders as necessary.
- Promote professional development opportunities through internal and external channels.
- Stay current with adult learning theories, instructional design, and relevant regulations at county, state, and federal levels.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in human services, social science, or related field; or minimum two years of training and experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
- Must pass Act 33, Act 34, and FBI background clearances.
- Valid driver's license and access to a properly insured vehicle for routine travel.
- Willingness to travel locally and work some evenings and weekends as required.

Additional Information
This is a full-time role requiring 37.5 hours per week, with a pay rate ranging from $22.05 to $23.59 per hour. Travel between Allegheny and Westmoreland offices is necessary.
