Role overview
This position plays a key part in developing the business activity of Qatar Airways Integrated Training Center by creating new revenue opportunities, building partnerships, managing customer relationships, and putting in place solutions that help generate income through training services delivered to outside clients.
Key responsibilities
- Spot opportunities to make use of surplus ITC training capacity across Qatar Airways divisions and subsidiaries so the wider group benefits from available resources.
- Research market developments, identify prospective clients, and explore partnership opportunities to expand business.
- Turn growth plans into practical action by executing business strategies and structured implementation plans.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with customers, partners, and other stakeholders to support trust and long-term cooperation.
- Work with prospective clients to understand technical training needs and logistical issues, and use that information to define service scope and negotiate mutually beneficial terms.
- Track industry movement in FSTD and SEP training, including competitor activity and changing requirements, and adjust plans accordingly.
- Partner with marketing and sales teams to develop campaigns that attract customers for ITC equipment and services.
- Coordinate with ITC Engineering and Quality teams to confirm that sourced services are technically suitable and meet regulatory requirements.
- Arrange logistics for internal and external visitors using the facilities, as well as for special events that showcase ITC and FDTA training capabilities.
- Act as a liaison for formal communication between internal stakeholders such as QR, QE, and QAF, and external organizations.
- Provide operational and technical assistance to internal and external clients so their needs are addressed effectively.
- Work with the Security Department to ensure external visits are approved and properly managed.
- Carry out additional department duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Set team or department goals and priorities so they support broader business objectives.
- Review goals, plans, procedures, and practices on a regular basis and make changes where needed.
- Lead and supervise staff, including day-to-day direction, recruitment, training, development, and disciplinary action to maintain service standards.
- Develop team members to support succession planning.
- Contribute to national talent development by coaching Qatari trainees and preparing them for long-term career growth.
- Continue building personal knowledge and professional expertise.
- Stay current on market trends and industry developments.
- Support emergency response or major operational disruption situations affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including participation in the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
- Train Qatari employees in different tasks based on business needs.
- Handle information in line with group data protection principles, limiting use and disclosure to what is necessary for the business purpose.
- Follow company policies on information use, processing, disclosure, and security, and ensure direct reports do the same.
- Consult the Group Data Protection Officer when privacy or data protection issues arise.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect all information from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
- Ensure employees at all levels understand health and safety expectations through induction, instruction, training, and supervision.
- Follow and promote all relevant safety, security, quality, and environmental management requirements to support safe operations and compliance.
- Make sure managers and supervisors understand workplace health and safety requirements so they can identify training needs and provide proper supervision.
- Take direct interest in injuries, incidents, near misses, and hazards so reporting, investigation, and corrective action are effective.
- Support Qatar Airways Group environmental objectives and the Environmental Management System.
- Apply environmental principles in day-to-day work and business decisions to improve efficiency and reduce operational and environmental risk.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
- No prior work experience is required.
- Ability to research markets, identify opportunities, and support business development activities.
- Experience or capability in managing relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong coordination and communication skills for handling cross-functional and external interactions.
- Comfort working with technical training, logistics, regulatory compliance, and service planning.
- Understanding of health, safety, security, quality, and environmental standards in an operational setting.
- Ability to supervise staff, develop team members, and support succession planning.
- Commitment to confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- Willingness to support emergency response and operational disruption needs when required.
