About the Role

Step up your retail leadership career by managing a portfolio of stores within a prominent food retail company. As a Trainee Area Manager based in Kilkenny, Waterford, or Wexford, you will guide Store Managers, foster team performance, and steer your district towards commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple retail stores and directly manage several Store Managers.
• Provide coaching and development to Store Managers to ensure operational excellence and commercial growth.
• Build and maintain a motivated, high-achieving team culture throughout your area.
• Analyze store operations, track stock movements, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Formulate and execute annual business plans along with KPI objectives.
• Design staffing plans and support workforce management across stores.
• Carry out regular visits and operational audits, including cash management reviews.
• Assist in store launches, renovations, and strategic projects.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align with company strategies and goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold at least a 2.1 degree in any field or possess a minimum of 3 years’ management experience.
• Experience in managing fast-paced retail or customer-facing environments is essential.
• Strong leadership capability to inspire, coach, and develop teams effectively.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
• Commercially minded with effective problem-solving skills.
• Possess a clean, full driving licence.
• Approach work with flexibility, proactivity, and excellent organization.
• Prior experience managing multiple sites or as an Area Manager is a plus but not mandatory.
• A genuine passion for growing a long-term retail career.

Benefits and Compensation

• Starting salary of €78,000, with progression to €89,500 and potential earnings up to €121,000 after three years.
