Traffic Marshal

About the Role

Select Plant Hire is searching for skilled Traffic Marshals to join their workforce at various locations across the UK, including Barnby Dun. The role involves ensuring the safe operation and flow of vehicles, plant machinery, and personnel within construction and infrastructure sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and regulate vehicle and equipment movement on construction sites to maintain safety.
• Guide delivery trucks and site traffic to their assigned areas.
• Maintain clear separation between pedestrians and vehicles.
• Communicate effectively with operators, drivers, and site crew to coordinate movements.
• Keep access and exit routes safe and unobstructed.
• Oversee traffic management systems and actively report any problems encountered.
• Support execution of traffic management plans and protocols.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and safety issues promptly.
• Adhere strictly to approved safety procedures, risk assessments, and working methods at all times.

Required Experience and Skills

• Prior experience as a Traffic Marshal or within the construction sector.
• Solid understanding of safety regulations and traffic control on sites.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact with diverse site personnel.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to stay alert in fast-paced environments.
• Commitment to proactive health and safety practices.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting with reliability and responsibility.
• Motivation to engage in continuous improvement and training opportunities.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Certified Traffic Marshal or Vehicle Banksman qualification.
• Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified in CPCS Plant and Vehicle Marshaller (A73).
• Experience participating in major infrastructure projects.
