Overview
We are seeking a qualified Traffic Management Operative to join our team supporting fibre network build operations. This role offers opportunities to enhance your existing traffic management skills while gaining hands-on experience with fibre network construction, including engineering, splicing, and testing tasks. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate safe and compliant civil site setups by working with CAD drawings and adhering to highway regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fibre network build teams by managing highway permits, temporary traffic lights, road closures, and signage.
- Ensure all civil site setups meet safety standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Operate and maintain traffic management equipment stored at the Witham office, using a 7.5-ton flat-bed truck for equipment pickup and delivery.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proven experience and qualification as a Traffic Management Operative.
- Desirable experience in fibre or telecoms build and repair.
- Strong understanding of highways legislation, including the ability to interpret CAD drawings and permit conditions.
- Preferred experience with field civils specifications such as NRSWA.
- Ability to deliver projects according to predefined schedules.
- Competent in understanding and applying risk and method assessments.
Qualifications and Certifications
- Full manual driving licence.
- Ability to pass a DBS check.
- NRSWA certification and Lantra M1/M2 qualifications.
