Role overview

Wabtec Corporation is hiring a permanent full-time Trades Assistant for its Welshpool, Western Australia site. The role supports the Production Supervisor and focuses on safe assembly, testing, and related workshop activities in line with company procedures and instructions.

Reporting line and location

This position reports to the Production Supervisor and is based onsite in Welshpool, WA.

Key duties

  • Support the assembly and testing of products using the correct drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and test procedures.
  • Dismantle equipment and carry out washing and cleaning tasks as required.
  • Advise the LH team if components are not suitable for assembly.
  • Complete, sign, and date all test documentation once finished assemblies or products have been tested.
  • Mark products as tested by stamping the batch number and serial number on the body or product after all tests are passed.
  • Quickly raise any issues with test specifications, drawings, or difficulties in achieving expected results to LH/SC&OM.
  • Take an active part in weekly toolbox meetings and other team discussions.
  • Represent the company professionally through a courteous, efficient, and customer-focused approach.
  • Provide backup support to warehouse staff when needed.
  • Carry out any reasonable tasks assigned by LH/SC&OM or your manager.
  • Work in line with quality, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
