About the role
This opportunity sits within Boeing’s Global Trade Controls function and is based in Doha, Qatar. The role supports Boeing businesses in Qatar and also assists colleagues across the wider Middle East region. The position reports to the Senior Manager for the Middle East, Turkey & Africa region and may involve some regional or international travel.
The focus of the job is to strengthen business partnerships while delivering practical trade control guidance that keeps operations moving in a compliant and timely way. The role calls for someone with hands-on trade controls experience, familiarity with Qatari customs rules and ideally broader GCC customs requirements, plus working knowledge of U.S. export regulations.
What you will do
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders at different levels to understand business goals and priorities.
- Design and deliver compliant, practical solutions that help the business operate successfully.
- Support the Qatar import/export team in managing compliant transactions, including broker oversight, jurisdiction and classification reviews, and required due diligence.
- Help establish and sustain an effective trade compliance framework for Boeing Qatar through clear processes, monitoring activities, and training.
- Work with local regulators to encourage a trade control environment that supports Boeing’s business needs.
- Assist Boeing joint ventures and partner companies when needed.
- Spot trade compliance risks and contribute to internal and external compliance risk reviews.
- Support investigations at the enterprise level and help implement corrective actions.
- Represent Global Trade Controls in relevant business meetings and provide guidance to Qatar leadership and program/function teams.
- Help the Senior Manager and GTC colleagues manage workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Keep regular communication flowing with U.S.-based GTC colleagues supporting the relevant defense programs in Qatar.
- Remain flexible enough to join virtual meetings across different global time zones.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven operational experience applying regional trade control or customs regulations.
- Working knowledge of the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Experience delivering presentations or training sessions.
- Comfortable using standard computing tools and related software.
- High ethical standards and the ability to stay self-driven.
- Preferred: project management experience.
- Preferred: a bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred: ability to communicate in Arabic, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Advanced education is desirable, and the role typically aligns with someone who has 9 or more years of related work experience.
- Practical experience in understanding and applying trade controls is considered essential.
Additional information
This is a locally hired international position in Qatar. Compensation and benefits are determined locally, are not part of Boeing’s U.S. payroll, and will match experience, qualifications, and applicable Qatari law. Employment depends on the candidate being able to meet all Qatari labor and immigration requirements.
Relocation support may be available depending on candidate eligibility. The employer is willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status where required. This is not a shift-worker role in Qatar.
